Last Saturday of the Australian summer. After days of wet and rather cold weather, this morning the sun shined and brought hope that it will be a nice Saturday ... and so it was.
As people entered the church they immediately fell in love with the church decorations. In the middle there was a big table with bread and wine glasses - which were all covered with white napkins, and in the middle there was a bouquet of white roses.

In the sermon, we moved back about 15 centuries when the Israelis were in captivity in Egypt, received the command: "... In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb ... And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.... And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.... Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread… "/ 2 Genesis 12 /
God gave the command, gather in homes, strike the doorposts with blood of a killed lamb - you will be safe.
Those who eat the Passover - expect imminent liberation.
It was the Old Testament, and what we have today? "... For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed…"/ 1 Corinthians 5, 7 /
Then there was washing of feet, eating the bread and wine: before the feast of the Passover, Jesus knew that His hour had come out of this world to the Father ... rose from supper, took off his robe, took a cloth towel, and girded him. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet ... "/ Matt. Jan 13, 1-5 /
"Then he took bread, said prayers , broke it and gave it to them, saying: 'This is my body given for you," Do this in remembrance of me. " Likewise, after supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood which is poured out for you. "/ Matt. Luke 22, 19.20 /
During the second part of the celebration there was also a moment of silence and prayer for the earthquake victims in Christchurch and a goodbye prayerr for Jonathan Ostrowski, who leaves his home and our church to go to another town to the Mission School.
