Last year 2010 was marked by various celebrations and concerts to mark 200th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin.
Often in life there are situations that unfortunately force us to change our plans and intentions - so was the Chopin concert at our church, it had to be postponed.
Finally, the concert, entitled "Memory of Frederic Chopin" was held in the Polish Adventist Church Dandenong, on 27th February 2011.
Beautiful decorations, a great piano (worthy of such shows) not so long ago purchased by the church and the young but very talented artists provided participants with a good atmosphere.
The concert began with the song titled "The Wish" Op. 74 No.1 "in the Roman Syrek arrangement, and choir of girls and women from the Polish Adventist Church Dandenong to the accompaniment of a string ensemble composed of Nadia Widuch, Paul Ustupski, Mackojć Claudia Milena Paradowska, Peter Zdaril, Anna Selent - violin; Ela Stęplewska - viola; Adriana Krysta and Richy Macko - cello; Lissa Ring - flute and Karin Wieczorek - piano.
After this the music started . Thanks to the artists we could move in our imagination to Poland, the manor house in Zelazowa Wola, where Chopin was born in - the sands and meadows of Mazovia ...
The performers tonight were: Sarah Wierzbicka, Nathan Iuoras, Samuel Schlegel, Konrad Olszewski, Krissy Jankiewicz, Anne Sun, Adriana Krysta - cello with accompaniment. Judy Bottrell, Lisa Ring - the flute accompaniment. Juddy Bottrell, Jola Mielczarek soloist with accompaniment. Konrad Olszewski.
Karin Wieczorek and Zbigniew Jankiewicz were in charge of openning and closing the concert.
The concert was divided into 3 parts and each was started by Ivona Ustupsk i and Samuel Schlegel telling us stories about the life, the music and work of composer Frederic Chopin. Great praise should be given to Samuel, who was born in Australia with an international marriage and who is an admirer of Chopin's music. He prepared all the information shared in those segments.
Songs performed by young musicians were filled with romanticism, melancholy and anxieties of Frederick - the audience could feel the spirit of the composer.
All the performers were great and gave their best performances. The Chopin Scherzo in B minor op.20 performed by - Konrad Olszewski spoke to me personally. One felt the perplexities of life of Frederic Chopin; almost a revolution - such was the life of the composer. The message hidden in the tones of the piano spoke to the soul directly.
At the end of the concert pr Mariusz Wieczorek and his wife Karin spoke of Chopin's heart being lodged in the Church of the Holy Cross in Warsaw. They appealed to the hearts of the ones present at the concert to make a special gift from the heart for victims of recent floods in Victoria. $1,670 was Raised, the money will be transferred by the Red Cross for flood victims Victoria.
