Labour day weekend offered the Pathfinders great excitement with the first Dandy Polish Pathfinder camp for 2008 (Last one was in 2001!). The pathfinders were challenged from the very beginning... learning to be away from mum and dad for several nights, setting up their camp and even having to do their dishes! Every morning we would begin with worship and actively seeking and inviting the Holy Spirit to engage with us throughout the day. Many great discussions sparked spiritual awareness within the young Pathfinders... Topics such as the second coming, having a dynamic relationship with Jesus and God's requirements from us were all studied!

On Sabbath afternoon we visited Marysville, Stevenson’s Falls, Buxton playground and explored the Little River.

Sunday brought an exciting day, full of challenges and adrenalin! From early morning we started climbing the famous steep mountain, Sugarloaf Peak. Towering at 954m above sea level, the Pathfinders had to negotiate overgrown bush, wild snakes and lizards, cross through a narrow cave, and rock climb to the summit! With the great care and safety of experienced and qualified staff, the Pathfinders had the opportunity to abseil and climb, then traverse and walk across the Razorback ridge and down the mountain... where a warm campfire lit up the atmosphere with hot pancakes!

A FABULOUS start to the year by each pathfinder, and we hope that the church will continue to help and support God's children grow physically, mentally and spiritually.
