Obchody 100-lecia urodzin brata Francois Michel VIVIER

W sobotnie popołudnie 26 lipca, nasz kościół udostępnił swe pomieszczenia sąsiedniemu zborowi, którego większość to przybysze z wyspy MAURITIUS.

Celebrowaliśmy wspólnie setną rocznicę urodzin brata w Chrystusie – Francois Michel VIVIER.

Uroczystość tę prowadzili pastorzy: Stenio Gungadoo i Chris Stanley.

Historię życia solenizanta opowiedziała wnuczka.

W połowie XVIII wieku młody człowiek Paul Emile Desire Vivier podjął życiową decyzję, w wyniku której ród Vivier zaistniał na wyspie Mauritius.

Po wojnach napoleońskich Francja odbudowywała się, ale wciąż jeszcze trwały wojny we Wschodniej Europie, w które Francja była włączona.

Młody Paul nic nie mówiąc swoim rodzicom, zaciągnął się jako pomoc na statku mającym płynąć na Karaiby lub do Indii Zachodnich.

Pożegnał się z rodzicami i popłynął. W czasie tej podróży postanowił pozostać na pięknej i spokojnej wyspie Mauritius, skąd nie groziła mu deportacja do Francji (i skierowanie na front), gdyż Mauritius w tym czasie był już nową kolonią brytyjską.

Nasz solenizant urodził się 28 lipca 1908 r., adwentystą został mając 17 lat, a do Australii przybył w 1987 r.

W polskim kościele adwentystycznym Dandenong, w sobotnie popołudnie słyszelismy pieśni, przemowy i modlitwę w języku francuskim.

Solenizant otrzymał wiele życzeń i gratulacji: od premiera Federalnego Rządu Australii i Generalnego Gubernatora ; od premiera Victorii i Genralnego Gubernatora Victorii; od władz dzielnicowych i osób prywatnych, jak również od Rodziny.

Życzymy Ci Bracie F.M. VIVIER dużo zdrowia i opieki Bożej na dalsze chwile życia.

Celebration of 100^th birthday by brother Francois Michael Vivier.

Saturday afternoon on the 26^th July, our church hired out its facilities to our neighbouring church, most of which members are migrants from island of Mauritius.

Together we celebrated the anniversary of 100^th birthday of our brother in Christ – Francois Michael Vivier.

The celebration was led by pastors Stenio Gungadoo and Chris Stanley.

The life history was shared with us by his granddaughter.

In the middle of the 18^th century a young man, Paul Emile Viver made a life changing decision, a result of which the Viver family took roots on the island of Mauritius.

After the Napoleonic wars ended the France was rebuild, however the wars in Eastern Europe continued and France was engaged in them.

Young Paul without saying anything to his family, took a job as a deck hand on a ship which was to sail to the Caribbean or West Indies.

He said goodbye to his parents and sailed away.  During his journey he decided to settle on beautiful and peaceful island of Mauritius, from which he couldn’t be deported to France (where he would be drafted to the army and sent to the front), for Mauritius at that time become a British colony.

Our birthday celebrant was born on the 28 July 1908, when he was 17 years old he become an Adventist, and to Australia he come in 1987.

In the Polish Adventist church this Saturday afternoon we heard songs, speeches and prayers in the French language.

The celebrant received many wishes and granulations: from Australian Prime Minister and the Governor General; from Victorian Premier and Victorian Governor General; from the local Council and the guests as well as his family.

Brother F.M. Vivier we wish you good health and Gods blessings and care for the rest of your life.
