Jaka jest twoja opinia o Jezusie Chrystusie? Czy myślisz, że jest on światłym nauczycielem? Kimś szczególnie uduchowionym? Synem Bożym? Boską istotą?
Ostatnio dużo się o nim mówi.
Dlatego też dla mego duchowego wzmocnienia w tym tygodniu zacząłem czytać nowotestamentową księgę Mateusza, rozdział drugi – opisujący zjawienie się Mędrców ze wschodu u Jezusa. Byli oni nauczycielami perskich królów. Byli biegli w filozofii i nauce, tłumaczyli sny. Byli znani jako mężowie mądrzy i świętobliwi. Byli mistykami, astronomami, lub, jeśli wolimy, astrologami. Znali starożytne proroctwo żydowskie dotyczące przyjścia Mesjasza i wiedzieli, jakich szukać znaków.
Komentatorzy twierdzą, że podróżowali oni około dwóch lat, aby znaleźć Jezusa. Kiedy więc go znaleźli, miał on prawie dwa lata.
W historii tej znajdujemy trzy głębokie prawdy obrazujące jak ludzie reagują na Jezusa, a objawiają się one w postawie Mędrców, przywódców religijnych i Heroda, przywódcy politycznego. Oto one:
1. Uwielbienie. Jeśli znasz tę historię, to wiesz, że Męrcy oddali cześć Jezusowi, ponieważ rozpoznali go i uznali jako syna Boga.
2. Obojętność. Przywódcy religijni kompletnie zlekceważyli to wydarzenie, ponieważ Jezus nie był takim rodzajem przywódcy duchowego, jakiego oczekiwali. Czekali na „religijnego” lidera, który by zaspokoił materialne pożądliwości ich serc poprzez przywrócenie Izraelowi niepodległości.
3. Nienawiść – zupełne odrzucenie. Herod w przypływie strachu, że inny król go zdetronizuje, wydał rozkaz, aby zgładzić wszystkich chłopców w Betlejem w wieku 2 lata i poniżej (komentatorzy twierdzą, że zamordowanych zostało około 30 niemowląt).
Jeśli myślisz, że Jezus przyszedł po to, aby odebrać ci coś (Herod), albo myślisz, że nie jest w stanie zaspokoić twoich ziemskich potrzeb (przywódcy religijni), to albo go zupełnie odrzucisz, albo zajmiesz względem niego obojętną postawę. Lecz jeśli jesteś duchową osobą, która pragnie doświadczyć totalnej łączności z Bogiem (Mędrcy), będziesz Mu oddawać cześć.
Co to znaczy czcić Go? Poddać swoje serce, pragnienia, cele, ambicje i marzenia Jemu, bo wiesz, że On pracuje aby dać Ci największe szczęście i najwyższye dobro. Czciś znaczy ufać.
Pomyślałem, że te myśli przydadzą ci się w formowaniu twojej własnej opinii o Jezusie i o tym, co znaczy On dla ciebie. Wiem, że pomogło to mi.

Three Choices, Basically

What's your opinion of Jesus Christ? Do you think he's an enlightened teacher? Someone who mastered spirituality? God's Son? A divine being?
There's been a lot of talk about him these past few weeks.
So this week for my spiritual focusing time, I started reading the New Testament book of Matthew, chapter two -- where the Magi visited Jesus. The Magi were the teachers of the Persian kings. They were skilled in philosophy and science, known to be men of wisdom and holiness, and interpreters of dreams -- they were mystics, astronomer, and astrologers, if you will. They knew about the ancient Jewish prophecy regarding the coming Messiah, and knew what signs to look for.
Commentators say that they could've traveled up to two years to find Jesus. So when they found him he was already nearing two years old.
In this story, there are three revealing insights about how people respond to Christ that we find in the Magi, the religious leaders, and Herod -- the political leader. Here they are:
1. Worship. If you know the story then you know that the Magi worshipped Jesus because they recognized and acknowledged him to be the son of God.
2. Indifference. The religious leaders dismissed the event altogether because Jesus wasn't the kind of spiritual leader they were looking for -- they were looking for a "religious" leader that would bring them the material desires of their hearts by making Israel sovereign again.
3. Hatred - outright rejection. Herod was so threatened by the idea of another king deposing him that he gave an order that all boys in Bethlehem two years old or younger be executed (commentators tell us that this would've been about 30 babies that were murdered altogether).
If you think Jesus has come to either take something away from you (Herod) or isn't going to satisfy your earthly wants or needs (the religious leaders), then you'll either outright reject him or take an undecided stance toward him. But, if you're a spiritual person who's looking for an experience of total oneness with God (the Magi), then you'll worship him.
What does it mean to worship him? To submit your heart, desires, goals, ambitions, and dreams to him because you know that he is working for your greatest happiness and highest good. Worship is trust.
I just thought you might find this helpful as you form your opinion about who you think Jesus is and what he means to you, I know I did.
