God's Word came with power, through our sister, Moe. Such a well known story to Christians, the story of Hagar, Abraham and Sarai challenged our views and assumptions of the characters and of the story completely.
God hears the cries of every human being. No matter their skin colour, race, gender, orientation, culture. He cares because He loves.
Are we as His people hearing the cries of all people for help? The homeless, the refugees, the immigrants, people of different religious and secular backgrounds. Do we care? Or have we forgotten that we too were immigrants and refugees?
God cares for all.
Hagar, an Egyptian woman who was a slave, the property of Sarai, was given to Abram, became pregnant, and cast out. She cried bitterly out in the wilderness, alone.
And Yahweh, the God of Abraham answered Hagar the Egyptian woman. 'Don't be afraid', He said.
Do we see God reaching to save His precious children, Hagar and her son Ishmael? Do we respond to the challenge of reaching ALL people, from ALL backgrounds and experiences?
God visited DandyPolish this Sabbath morning. Through the voice of sister Moe.
