Hello Friends of Operation Food for Life

Dennis_preview_original Pleased to forward a report from Reuben Alu, our Port Moresby Area Manager. He is pictured on the left hand side of the criminal he wrote about in the report below.

Our sincere appreciation to Lance Weslake from Wahroonga SDA church, for providing the pastors  sermons on DVD which the prisoners are very comfortable viewing.

You will note  in Reubens report these have been very well received.
Prison ministry is only one project Operation Food for Life is  actively involved in Port Moresby.

The others include feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, feeding those dying of Aids in hospital plus much more.

Thank you for noting this update

Best regards
Dennis

If you read PNG local media you will come across inmate name: William Kapris. He known in our local media as High Profile Criminal inmate. He committed crimes that made Papua New Guinea themselves cannot believe. He killed a policeman some ten years ago, robbed banks across the country and three weeks ago convicted and was given thirty-years sentence.  I learnt that he was in Bomana Prison here in Port Moresby, and invited him to come to church. This is located inside the prison grounds. He readily accepted my invitation. What an opportunity to invite this high profile and notorious criminal  to come to Sabbath Worship.  I know it was Holy spirit who paved the way for him to come to our program.

In the meantime, I was thrilled to received DVD Sets of Pastor Llyod Grolimund sermons Lance sent me, following my appeal through Dennis and the Operation Food or  Life network. These are much needed in the prison system here in Papua New Guinea.

I decided Retired pastor, Dr Aaron Lopa and Hon. John Pundari (Minister for Mining) and Dion Hoods (lecturer) from Pacific Adventist University to present the dvds sets. Really, I took with me high profile people to meet with ‘high profile criminal.’

I plan the program that it was more or less welcoming sinner ( prodigal inmate) to the fold. William gave his testimony which touch many lives including myself. Yes, through the blood of Jesus Christ, criminal like William can find peace and tranquillity in the warmth of Seventh-day Adventist inmate members.  I left that church yesterday, I felt Spirit of God has moved in the hearts of my inmates who attended the church that morning.

Titus the criminal I mentioned  is wearing a BLUE T shirt – BULA  the attached photos. Every inmate   enjoyed presentation by Pastor Lloyd Grolimund in the dvd watched today.I am confident they will enjoy many more in the series and subjects in the dvds.
