Adra

"Run Melbourne"

Last Sunday  ( 10 July 2011) the young people ran in the annual “Run Melbourne” fundraising event in the city. The day had come where after fundraising and training it was time to run 10 km for ADRA “Keep girls safe” and “Stop it now” ADRA campaigns.

20.477 runners and walkers joined us in the early morning wake up as our race started at 9:30 am and our team of 12 was pumped and ready.

The atmosphere at the race was great as many charities were represented and weather holding out for the event. The event drew people of all ages and fitness levels, including families, friends, work colleagues. Everyone got a meal at the end the race for participating.

On behalf of everyone that participated in the race, we want to thank you for your generous donation and support.

For ADRA we in total raised $1690 in donation that will go to providing funds and resources for Women’s refuges in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Thailand.

I want to thank our team for getting involved in this event and challenging yourself in running for a good cause and being actively involved.

We want to finish with a Bible verse from Isaiah 40: 31 – “But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
